Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C. is the largest, independent Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm in the state of Iowa, a Top 100 CPA and business consulting firm, the seventh fastest growing CPA firm in the United States and the fastest growing CPA firm in the Midwest. 

The firm was founded on January 1, 1947. The founders, John and Peg Law, started the business to find a remedy for the most common problems plaguing small businesses - keeping records that adequately reflected business operations and posting large volumes of transactions in an organized, efficient manner.

Mail Me Monday
The Laws discovered a West Coast firm, Accounting Corporation of America, that had developed such a system for accountants to service small and medium sized clients. The decision was made to become an affiliate office, and the company known as Mail Me Monday of Dubuque was founded.

John W. Law Company
Mail Me Monday of Dubuque grew as an affiliate office. But after twelve years John Law decided to become entirely independent. With this decision came many challenges: installing new systems and procedures, installing and maintaining data processing equipment, adding and training additional staff, and selling a new service in Dubuque: data processing. The name of the firm was changed to John W. Law Company.

Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C.
The years between 1959 and 1985 the John W. Law Company experienced many positive changes. Arnie Honkamp became the majority stockholder in 1973. Many of the current partners joined the firm, several of the existing departments were created, and the first branch office was acquired. In 1985 the partners decided to identify the company as a certified public accounting firm. The firm name had to carry the name of a partner and/or partners who were CPAs and thus, the name of the firm was changed to Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C., to reflect the names of Arnie Honkamp and Al Krueger.

Honkamp Krueger Financial Services, Inc. 
In 1995, the partners of Honkamp Krueger formed a new and separate entity, Honkamp Krueger Financial Services (HKFS). HKFS is a full service investment, brokerage and life insurance company. This company enables our CPAs to perform a thorough analysis of each client’s financial situation, and when necessary, refer and accompany the client in meeting with the professionals from HKFS thus solving their financial needs.

HK Payroll Services, Inc. (HKP)
In 2009, Honkamp Krueger spun off its workforce management division into its own entity, HKP. Honkamp Krueger has been offering convenient, efficient and accurate workforce management solutions for over 60 years in all 50 states and continues these practices today at HKP.
