Experience: Upon graduation in 1998, Heather worked at a regional CPA firm in Oak Brook, IL, where she worked her way up to the senior level over a five-year period. Then she moved to Galena, IL and joined HK where she is now a director. She has 11 years in public accounting, including for-profit, non-profit and governmental entities. Heather has worked on audits and reviews in a variety of industries including retail, manufacturing, financial, construction, municipalities and non-profit organizations.
Specialties: Internal control reviews and fraud investigations to assist clients and federal authorities in prosecution
Education: B.S. in accounting from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, IN
Community involvement: Heather is in the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #882 Past Exalted Ruler. She is also a budget committee member of the United Way of Dubuque, board member and finance committee member of St. Stephen’s Food Bank, member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Family life & hobbies: When out of the office, Heather likes to play golf, most often in Galena where she’s a member. She also likes to travel north and relax at the family cabin in Winter, WI, where she golfs, goes 4-wheeling, snowmobiling and bear watching/hunting.
