Iowa manufacturers may soon have access to new funding to help address workforce development and training needs.
Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) recently announced Advanced Manufacturing Pathways Development (AMP’D) Iowa, a new initiative designed to help manufacturers build a more skilled workforce. The program is funded through a nearly $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor and will support employer-led training programs focused on production, machine maintenance and other critical manufacturing skills.
Beginning June 29, eligible manufacturers can apply for grant funding to partner in designing customized training programs that address workforce skill gaps and strengthen talent pipelines.
