As the research and development principal for the firm, Mike oversees training and development and various initiatives related to the firm’s digital transformation. He has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, including five years with a Big 4 firm and 17 years in the national office of a Top 5 firm. In addition, he spent six years as the controller for a privately held food company with responsibilities over internal financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting, cost accounting, and credit and collection. Mike joined Honkamp in 2016.

Mike and his wife, Angie, have two sons, Anthony and Brian, a cat named Stewart, and two golden retrievers, Circe and Juno. Mike enjoys running, golfing, and other outdoor activities.
